Volunteering at the Volunteer Connection is direct service to people. You can choose to work with adults who are striving to reach the educational goals they’ve set for themselves…and being part of this progress is both exciting and rewarding. You can choose to work with children and help them in their formative years. You might support an adult learner as he/she prepares for their citizenship test or help a young student feel better about school, but the impact you’ll have is very real and very important.

Discount on Community Education Classes
After every quarter that you are an active volunteer in our program, you can call our office for a discount coupon worth $10.00 off of any one Community Education class. These classes are offered in Bloomington/Richfield, Edina and Eden Prairie.

Professional Experience
Volunteer experience can be used on resumes and job applications. If you are taking time to be at home with your family, thinking about a career change, or want experience in education…this is a great opportunity for you! We are happy to provide references, letters of recommendation and letters to current employers for active volunteers to acknowledge your contribution to our students.

Transportation
Mileage reimbursement is available to seniors through our partnership with RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program). Please ask for details to take advantage of this offer.

The greatest reward, however, is knowing you made a difference in the life of a learner! No one would give of their time only for these reasons…we just want the opportunity to make it easier for you to volunteer with us and in some small way give back to you for your contributions.
